Jason Scott Lee to voice animated sci-film
By Wayne Harada
Actor Jason Scott Lee, no stranger in providing his voice to animated films, has agreed to collaborate on "strange frame: Love & Sax," the first Sci-Fi animation feature film from the Big Island, with Island Planet One Productions, LLC.
Lee, a Hollywood recluse who lives on the Big Island, voiced the role of Kawika in Disney's Hawai'i-influenced "Lilo & Stitch" TV and film franchise. He also has starred in more than 20 features, including "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story," "Timecop," "Junglebook," and "Map of the Human Heart."
"strange frame: Love & Sax," the creation of animator GB Hajim and musician Shelley Doty, will be a 100-minute 2D and 3D feature for theatrical release in the fall of 2009.
The project's award-winning sound mixer, Gary Rizzo of Skywalker Sound, is noted for 50 films that include "Titanic," "Dark Knight," "The Incredibles" and "Batman."
Island Planet One Productions first announced the project in 2006 at the Annecy Film Festival in France, with renowned French comic book artist Jean "Moebius" Giraud.
