NFL: Saints place Kaesviharn on IR

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints placed Kevin Kaesviharn on injured reserve today, ending the safety's season.
Kaesviharn had a neck injury that team officials described as a "stinger," or a pinched nerve. Coach Sean Payton said Thursday it was the second time Kaesviharn had such an injury and that he would need a few weeks to recover.
The Saints filled Kaesviharn's spot on the roster by signing linebacker Tearrius George off of Dallas' practice squad.
George is a first-year player who has yet to play an NFL game. He was first signed out of Kansas State by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He did not make the Jets' roster.
In 2007, George played in the CFL for the Calgary Stampeders, posting 33 tackles and eight sacks.
