NBA: ME says Celtics fan died of 'natural causes'

BOSTON — Officials said a 22-year-old man who died 11 days after he stopped breathing while in police custody during Boston Celtics championship celebrations died of "natural causes."
The state medical examiner announced on Monday that David Woodman's death was brought on by heart arrhythmia.
Woodman was taken into custody on a public drinking charge on the night of June 18.
A lawyer for his parents, Jeffrey and Cathy Woodman of Southwick, Mass., questioned whether police used excessive force during the arrest. Police have denied those allegations.
Attorney Howard Friedman told the Boston Herald that the family is still awaiting results of an independent autopsy and an independent review of the incident being led by a former federal prosecutor.
