Woman wakes up in flooded car in Ewa

A woman who woke up in her flooded car in 'Ewa this morning scampered up a tree until she was rescued by staff at Kahi Mohala Behaviorial Healthcare hospital.

The unidentified woman who appeared to be in her 20s was treated by city paramedics and left the hospital when a friend picked her up, said Kim Koyama, Kahi Mohala's administrative secretary.

Between 7:30 and 8 a.m., the woman was spotted by a maintenance worker in a tree on the Waipahu side of the hospital's property, which sits between Old Fort Weaver Road and Farrington Highway, Koyama said.

The woman told hospital staff that she woke up in her car to water that was up to her shoulders, Koyama said. The area is near Honouliuli Bridge off of Old Fort Weaver Road.

She scampered up a tree, then made her way to dry land and was helped to the hospital, Koyama said
