Maui, Big Island clear of bad weather

No flooding or other major weather-related problems have been reported in Maui County this morning. Steady rain began pelting the island at about 8 a.m., with the heaviest rainfall over Central, South and Upcountry Maui, according to the National Weather Service.
Maui is under flood advisory in the hardest-hit areas until noon. The entire county is subject to a flash flood watch through late tonight.
The National Weather Service said gusty southerly winds will be increasing over Maui County today, with strong westerly winds continuing tonight over Haleakala and the Big Island summits of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea.
No flood warnings were in effect for the Big Island as of just before 11 a.m.
