Helemano Plantation fundraiser set for tonight

Advertiser Staff

WAHIAWA, Hawaii — Helemano Plantation will host "Tomorrow Begins Today," a fundraising gala dinner tonight in the Coral Ballroom at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa.

Dinner proceeds will benefit ORI Anuenue Hale Inc., the organization that manages Helemano Plantation, and will help to fund its various programs and services for the elderly and the developmentally disabled.

"Tomorrow Begins Today" will also include a silent auction featuring gourmet food baskets, one-of-a-kind collectible items, dinner and hotel accommodations and artwork.

Serving Hawaii's elderly and developmentally disabled on Oahu, ORI Anuenue Hale Inc. was founded by Susanna F. Cheung in 1980. The nonprofit agency owns and operates Helemano Plantation – a place "where aloha begins" – and provides a "real world" work environment for the developmentally disabled, according to a news release from the organization.

Located just north of the town of Wahiawa in Central Oahu, Helemano Plantation offers training and employment opportunities for its clients. The 10-acre community complex also includes a training center, retail facilities and a nine-unit residential program, Helemano Village. Visit www.helemano.org for more information.
