Puna murder suspect in Honolulu hospital

A 60-year-old Puna man wanted for questioning by Big Island police investigating the shooting death of his son is at The Queen's Medical Center with critical injuries suffered in a car crash Saturday on Hawai'i Belt Road in Captain Cook, according to authorities.
Randal K. Randrup was driving a tan 1968 Volkswagen van involved in the 9 a.m. crash.
Randrup is described as a "person of interest" in the death of his son, 27-year-old Hans Christian Randrup, whose body was found Friday on the shoreline at Mackenzie State Park in Puna. The younger Randrup, who lived with his father at Leilani Estates, had been shot multiple times.
