Redskins' Portis misses practice

Associated Press

Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis missed practice yesterday with a muscle spasm in his back and is listed as questionable for tomorrow's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Coach Jim Zorn said he expects Portis to play.

"He's working out the kinks," Zorn said. "It would have to be pretty severe for him to stay out."

Right tackle Jon Jansen missed practice again and is expected to sit out his second straight game with a sprained knee.

The entire defense is expected to be available tomorrow, including linebacker Marcus Washington, who has missed four games with a severely sprained ankle.

RB JACOBS PRACTICES, LISTED AS QUESTIONABLE

Halfback Brandon Jacobs practiced yesterday for the third straight day and was listed as questionable for the New York Giants' NFC showdown with the Carolina Panthers.

"I feel good," Jacobs said after the workout at Giants Stadium.

Jacobs missed the game against Dallas last weekend after aggravating an injury to his left knee in a game against Philadelphia the previous Sunday. He leads the Giants with 1,002 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns.

Receivers Domenik Hixon (ankle/foot) and Sinorice Moss (calf), and defensive tackle Fred Robbins (shoulder) also were listed as questionable for tomorrow night's game.
