A man who appeared to be in his early 30s was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition Monday night after being stabbed, police said.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said city paramedics responded to a call at 11:22 p.m. about a stabbing on Ala Kapuna Street.

Police said officers arrested a suspect. Police have opened an attempted homicide investigation.

Officials said the victim was later upgraded to stable condition.
