Five students at James Campbell High School earned Advanced Placement Scholar Awards in recognition of their achievement on AP exams.

The five students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 to 5 on a 5-point scale.

Four of the students are 2008 graduates: Marifel Barbasa (now attending Columbia University), Jason Huff (Washington State University), Jessica Janca (Oregon State University) and Arantxa Jan Medina (Trinity College).

The fifth student is senior Isaac Fujikawa, who is a 2008 National History Day qualifier. He and his teammates will go to Washington, D.C., in April to represent Hawai'i's public and private schools in national competition.
