A man who appears to be in his 40s was reportedly shot on Lahaina Street in Makaha at about 2:22 p.m.

Paramedics came to the aid of a man who appeared to have sustained a single gunshot wound, said Bryan Cheplic, a spokesman for the city Department of Emergency Services.

The victim was taken to a local area trauma center in serious condition, Cheplic said.
