Two the state's largest shopping centers shut down today due to the power outage that cut off electricity to tens of thousands of customers.

Ala Moana Center said most of its stores have decided to close early today, which is traditionally one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

Pearlridge Center closed its doors and escorted customers from its premises after losing power earlier today, said mall spokeswoman Debra Sharkey.
