Oregon State University football coach Mike Riley, the third-winningest coach in school history, agreed to stay through at least the 2015 season, Athletic Director Bob De Carolis said.

The latest agreement adds a year to his existing six-year deal, which will pay the 55-year-old Riley about $1 million in salary and incentives this year, the school said on its Web site. Each time the team wins a bowl game, the contract restarts.

Oregon State has participated in eight bowls in 10 years and won four straight since 2003, when Riley returned for a second stint as head coach. The Beavers today face the Pittsburgh Panthers in the 75th Brut Sun Bowl.

"There's no question we're on the right track in all facets of the football program," De Carolis said in a statement. "We've enjoyed some of our best seasons ever with Coach Riley at the helm and he has developed a program that continues to compete at the highest level."

Riley, who has 55 victories, trails Lon Stiner with 74 and Tommy Prothro with 63.
