Organist Frederick L. Swann performs in a free concert at 7 p.m. Jan. 16 at Central Union Church, 1660 S. Beretania St.

Swann is organist emeritus of the Crystal Cathedral and the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles; he was part of the music ministry of the famed Riverside Church in New York City where he worked with Virgil Fox. In 1982, Swann became the organist and music director at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif. He'll perform works by Franck, Schumann, and Simonds. He will also perform Bach's Fantasia and Fugue in g minor, Rheinberger's Introduction and Passacliglia and the organ Finale from Widor's Symphony No. 4.
