Lingle appoints Miranda as liaison to East Hawaii
Honoka'a native Marc Miranda has been appointed as Gov. Linda Lingle's liaison to the East Hawai'i community. Miranda will start his duties Jan. 12.
Miranda has served on Lingle's staff since November 2003, working in her main office in Honolulu as boards and commissions assistant administrator, according to a news release from the governor's office.
Lingle said Miranda has a strong knowledge of the issues facing Hawai'i's communities.
"In addition, having been born and raised in Honoka'a, Marc is very familiar with the issues and concerns of East Hawai'i residents, and I am confident he will be a strong advocate for the community," Lingle said.
