Kameron Steinhoff scored 18 points and No. 2-ranked Punahou opened up a 13-point halftime lead en route to defeating Maryknoll, 52-37, last night at Damien to force a winner-take-all playoff for the Interscholastic League of Honolulu boys basketball championship.
Dalton Hillard added 10 points for the Buffanblu (10-2), who will play No. 3 'Iolani (10-2) tomorrow night at 8 at Blaisdell Arena for the title and the league's top seed and first-round bye in the state tournament.
Leading 6-5 after one quarter, Punahou opened up a 23-13 halftime lead. Maryknoll (4-8) closed to 34-26 entering the final quarter but could not make up the deficit.
