High-surf advisory still posted for north, west shores

A high-surf advisory remains in effect for all north- and west-facing shores of Ni'ihau, Kaua'i and O'ahu and north-facing shores on Moloka'i and Maui.
A large northwest swell generated by an intense Pacific storm far northwest of the state several days ago continues to roll up on the north and west shores of most of the smaller Hawaiian Islands, the Weather Service said.
The high-surf advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday.
