HAWAII MEDICAL SERVICE ASSOCIATION
The Hawaii Medical Service Association has announced the promotion of John Jacobs to president of Benefit Services of Hawaii, and Douglas Auten to vice president of BSHI. Previously, Jacobs was vice president of account management and sales at HMSA. Auten was director of sales and operations at BSHI, which is a subsidiary of HMSA.
P.F. CHANG
Ed Locke has been named operating partner for the second P.F. Chang restaurant in Hawai'i, scheduled to open at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center this spring. Larkspur Sanchez, currently the culinary partner at the first P.F. Chang at the Hokua luxury condo in Honolulu, has been named culinary partner at the new location, and Stefan Arai, currently a sous chef at P.F. Chang's Hokua, was named as culinary partner at the Hokua restaurant.
KAISER PERMANENTE HAWAII
Kaiser Permanente Hawaii has named Joan Danieley executive director of health plan service and administration, responsible for the organization's health plan operations, which include membership services and provider contracting. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, Danieley served as vice president of clinical innovations and chief compliance officer for Bloodhound Software, a medical and clinical software company headquartered in North Carolina.
REHABILITATION HOS-PITAL OF THE PACIFIC
The Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific has elected Dr. Bruce Katsura and Dr. Timothy Roe to its board of directors. Katsura is medical director of rehabilitation at Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi, and Roe is the CEO of HG Pacific Management, a private investment firm. Both are board-certified physiatrists (physicians specializing in physical medicine).
CONSULAR CORPS OF HAWAII
The Consular Corps of Hawaii has announced the appointment of its officers for 2008. They are: Gaylord G. Tom, honorary consul of the Netherlands, dean; David Binns, consul general of Australia, immediate past dean; Toshio Kunikata, consul general of Japan, vice dean; Nina Fasi, honorary consul of Norway, secretary; Annie Kaneshiro, honorary consular agent of Tonga, treasurer; Niklaus R. Schweizer, honorary consul of Switzerland, historian. The Consular Corps of Hawaii is the umbrella organization of consulates and other foreign government representatives posted in the state of Hawai'i. It has had a presence in Hawai'i since 1824.
