Dry weather slowly returns

A weather system responsible for much of the rain during the past week has moved off to the east of the Big Island bringing back more typical weather conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

Here's the weather forecast for the next few days:

Today: Sunny with some isolated showers, with a high near 80. East wind between 9 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tonight: Mostly clear, some isolated showers, with a low around 69. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Monday: Most sunny with isolated showers. High near 79. East wind between 10 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with scattered showers. Low around 67. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tuesday: Sunny with isolated showers. Highs 76 to 81. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 64 to 71. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
