TAMPA, Fla. — Police said two Montreal Canadiens players have been arrested outside a Tampa nightclub.
29-year-old defenseman Ryan O'Byrne has been accused of stealing a woman's purse, and 29-year-old right wing Thomas Kostopoulos has been charged with resisting an officer, a Tampa police report says.
O'Byrne has been charged with felony grand theft. He was released today after posting $2,000 bail. Kostopoulos faces a misdemeanor count of resisting an officer without violence and was freed after posting $500 bail.
Spokesman Donald Beauchamp said the team would have no comment until after Monday's practice.
The Canadiens are scheduled to play the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.
