The launch of the Hawai'i 2050 Sustainability Plan is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. today at the Hawaii State Capitol.

Leaders of the state Senate and House, members of the Hawai'i 2050 task force and community supporters will be on hand for a release to the Hawai'i 2050 plan, the first long-range, community-based plan for the state since the Hawai'i State Plan was created in the 1970s.

A news release said the plan includes public policy recommendations and action items and is the result of a community-based process to map out the future of the Islands.

Among those expected to attend are Senate President Colleen Hanabusa, House Majority Leader Kirk Caldwell, Sen. Russell Kokubun, and Jim Tollefson, president/CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.
