Big Island teens to compete in 'Poetry Out Loud—Hawaii'

Poetry Out Loud — Hawai'i will this month hold a semifinal competition for Big Island schools Feb. 23.
Poetry Out Loud is a National Endowment for the Arts and Poetry Foundation national initiative which emphasizes the art of poetry recitation. The overall project is open to all high school students in the state enrolled in public, charter, private, and home schools.
The semifinal event is set for noon to 1:30 p.m. at Hawai'i Education and Research Center in Honoka'a.
