Starting today on www.HawaiiMoms.com, you'll find a weekly series of mom-tested tips called It Works for Me! First up: an idea from a mom who calls herself gogirl808: Store your children's DVDs and CDs in one of those large nylon, zippered binders, and you can ditch the bulky jackets. "My 3- and 4-year-old daughters easily can flip through the pages and pick which disc they'd like ... and the binders don't take up space on our shelf," she writes. "I can switch out the DVD selection from time to time, and the hidden DVDs seem new and fresh again later."
BOOKS FOR A BUCK
It's Bookapalooza time at the Kaimuki Public Library, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow in the downstairs parking lot of the library, 1041 Koko Head Ave. The Friends of Kaimuki Public Library's sale promises a startling array of books for just $1 each. Also available will be a selection of rare and out-of-print books, CDs, videos, DVDs and books on tape too. Proceeds benefit the library's audio and visual collection. Info: 733-8424.
