Police last night arrested two 16-year-old girls who allegedly used physical force in attempting to escape from Hale Ho'omalu, the Alder Street juvenile detention facility.

The teens were each booked as juveniles for attempted first-degree escape and three counts of second-degree assault at 8:22 p.m. Charges are pending Family Court action.

No injuries were reported.
