A male motorist was killed tonight in a single-car accident on the H-3 Freeway westbound Kamehameha Highway off-ramp in Kane'ohe.

The accident was reported at 9:55 p.m. and involved a burning auto.

Honolulu Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said the lone occupant in the vehicle, believed to be a 22-year-old man, was pronounced dead at 10:12 p.m.

Pending autopsy findings for cause and manner, the death could be O'ahu's seventh traffic fatality of the year.
