Another senior executive has been named to help run a publicly traded real-estate investment trust being formed by Honolulu real-estate investor Jay Shidler.
James M. Kasim will become chief financial officer of Pacific Office Properties Trust Inc., a company being formed primarily with Honolulu and Mainland office building assets that are owned by The Shidler Group. These include local properties Davies Pacific Center, the Pan Am Building and Waterfront Plaza.
Shidler will serve as Pacific Office Properties chairman, and earlier filled the CEO position with Dallas Lucas, a former executive vice president and chief financial officer of Los Angeles-based Maguire Properties.
Kasim most recently served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Los Angeles-based BentleyForbes, a multibillion-dollar real-estate investment firm focused on office, resort and hotel properties.
Pacific Office Properties is in the process of merging with Arizona Land Income Corp., an Arizona-based firm that was liquidating its mortgage loan portfolio and land holdings in the Phoenix area.
The merger is expected to result in Pacific Office Properties shares being traded on the American Stock Exchange once the merger is completed. The deal in January received approval of Arizona Land shareholders.
