Hawaiian Electric Co. has replaced a utility pole taken out when a vehicle crashed into it about 5 a.m. today.

About 670 Hawaiian Electric Co. customers in an area near Punahou School were without power from about 5 to 7 a.m. this morning after a traffic crash damaged a utility pole.

Darren Pai, a HECO spokesman, said the school itself was not affected by the outage.

Pai said a troubleshooter and repair crew were at the crash site at the corner of Manoa Road and Nehoa Street.

HECO officials said the pole was replaced by about 1:20 p.m., and work crews should be off the road before school lets out.
