Underground hip-hop artist Joe Dub is headlining Sideroad Records' Hawai'i tour, along with a few artists signed to the Canadian indie record label.
Joe Dub made a name for himself as half of the LA2thebay collective. He now resides in Kane'ohe and is on tour with Sideroad Records' owner/operator and hip-hop producer Factor.
Dub, whose latest record is "Pooretry" (asitarecordings.com), and Factor released a collabo album last year titled "Live in 75," credited with closing the gap between West Coast and north-of-the-border hip-hop styles.
Along with California's Kirby Dominant and Canadians Def3, Kay The Aquanaut, and Forgetful Jones, the two-day O'ahu tour includes a show from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Prototype at Pearlridge. The masters of beat and spit also join the Trip The Lights Beat Root Championships at 8 p.m. Friday night at rRed Elephant in downtown Honolulu.
The crowd will also appear on the 90.3 FM KTUH "Got Rice" show, beginning at midnight Thursday.
