Big Island stabbing suspect facing deportation

An 18-year-old Mexican national charged by Big Island police Monday with allegedly stabbing a man outside a Kona bar early Sunday morning was turned over today to U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement agents for possible deportation.
Carlos Silva-Rivero allegedly stabbed a Captain Cook man, 45, in the shoulder and lower back before threatening to stab a male witness, 34, if he said anything to authorities. Silva-Rivero was charged with second-degree assault and intimidating a witness.
The incident was reported to police at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
