University Ave. main break affecting 10 apartment buildings

A water main break on University Avenue is affecting service to residents in 10 nearby apartment buildings and slowing traffic in the area.
The eight-inch water main break was reported at 5:43 p.m., Board of Water Supply spokeswoman Moani Wright-Van Alst said. Two makai lanes of University Avenue between South King and Date streets are closed and traffic is being contraflowed on mauka-bound lanes.
Wright-Van Alst had no estimated time for the repair work.
