There is no magic number for the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team.

But the Rainbow Warriors still want to end the season with a magical run, starting tomorrow when they host Idaho.

"These are our last two home games, and then we got two more on the road," senior guard Riley Luettgerodt said. "We've been talking about this thing winding down for the last month and a half, and now it's here. The best way to finish is to win."

The 'Bows are 11-14 overall and 7-5 in the Western Athletic Conference. They will close out their final homestand by hosting first-place Boise State on Saturday.

"We still can make a run," senior guard Jared Dillinger said. "And this is our last week at home, so we really want it to be special."

The 'Bows may have to do it without leading scorer Matt Gibson, who still has not been cleared to play because of a knee injury.

Hawai'i head coach Bob Nash said the 'Bows are preparing to take on Idaho without Gibson.

"If he's ready by (today), great," Nash said. "But at this point, he's not ready to go, so we have to move forward."

Hawai'i still has a mathematical shot at first place, but is more likely playing for the No. 3, 4 or 5 seed for the WAC Tournament. The 'Bows are currently in fifth place in the nine-team WAC.

"We need some help from other teams, but we can still move up," Dillinger said.

Idaho is also looking to move up. The Vandals are 6-19 overall and 3-10 in the WAC.

They are currently in eighth place, but want to finish seventh to avoid the dreaded "play-in" game between the Nos. 8 and 9 seeds on the opening day of the WAC Tournament.

"I'm fully expecting Idaho to come in here and give us a great game," Nash said. "They're much improved from the last time we saw them."

Hawai'i defeated Idaho, 58-53, on Jan. 26 in Moscow, Idaho. It was one of only two road victories for the 'Bows this season.

Hawai'i is coming off two disappointing road losses last week, but still have a five-game home winning streak.

"Idaho is dangerous," Luettgerodt said. "They might not have the best record, but that means they'll come here with nothing to lose. For us, we want to keep our home streak going."

The Vandals have one of the WAC's top all-around players in guard Jordan Brooks. He leads the team in scoring (12.8), rebounding (6.4) and assists (4.3).
