Maui's Kurt Suzuki agrees to one-year deal with A's

Oakland Athletics catcher Kurt Suzuki, a Maui native, agreed to terms on a one-year contract today.

Suzuki, a Baldwin High alum from Wailuku, appeared in 68 games behind home plate in 2007, hitting .249 with seven home runs and 39 RBI.

Suzuki was drafted by the Athletics in 2004 and made his major-league debut last season.
