Hallmark TV channel is planning to make a TV movie out of "Flirting with Forty," a Jane Porter novel about a woman who falls in love with her surf instructor while on vacation in Waikiki.
The TV movie, tentatively scheduled to air in December, is currently in pre-production, according to the Internet Movie Database.
No word yet on when or even if the beach scenes will be filmed, said real-life surf instructor Ty Gurney, who served as inspiration for Kai, the male lead in the book.
"We're thinking they may film some of it in Hawai'i, the rest in a studio," Gurney said.
