It's never too late to join the chats.

KIDS: WRITE A HAIKU, WIN A TRIP TO TOKYO
Japan Airlines is sponsoring a haiku contest for Hawai'i youths. The grand prize: two economy round-trip tickets to Tokyo, for the winner and an escort.
Applicants must be elementary or junior high school students in Hawai'i, 15 or younger. Entries, one per student, should relate to this year's theme, "winds." They should be in haiku form, the traditional three-line verse of 17 syllables divided into a 5-7-5 pattern, and written in English. The haiku and an illustration, drawn by the author, can be submitted on the same piece of letter-sized paper, with name, age, grade, teacher's name and school clearly written on the back of the entry.
The contest is open until Feb. 29. Send to Haiku Contest, Japan Airlines Public Relations, Japan Airlines, Honolulu International Airport, 300 Rodgers Blvd., Box 21, Honolulu, HI 96819.
FINAL WORD
"Like a lot of folks, I've got a lot on my plate without trying to make sure the dishwasher liquid is in a biodegradeable container. (It is, but were it not for the eco-warrior with whom I share a bed, I would have fallen behind.)"
— Bono, in Time magazine
