Advertiser Staff

Police yesterday were looking for a male who fired several shots at a group of teenagers at McCully Shopping Center late Wednesday night.

One person sustained a minor injury when grazed by a ricocheting bullet, police said.

Police described the incident as a confrontation between two groups of people at the retail center at McCully Street and Kapi'olani Boulevard About 10:50 p.m., police said, a group of 10 to 15 males approached a group of 12 teenage boys and girls in the center's parking lot.

The groups began to argue. One of the males in the first group took out a gun and fired several shots, police said.

Police are investigating the incident as an attempted murder case.

Police said the teens in the group that was shot at were nine males, 15 to 19 years old, and three females, 16 to 19 years old.

Police had made no arrests as of yesterday afternoon. A center surveillance camera recorded the incident, police said.
