TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"Grey's Anatomy," 8 p.m., ABC. In a superb previous episode, George — his own marriage and affair both crumbling — was a helpless witness. He was the go-between, as Bailey and her husband drifted apart. Now come new tangles. George's mother (Debra Monk) visits. Bailey has a family member at the hospital, while her marriage wobbles. And Derek must figure his next step. He has kissed Rose, the nurse whom he never even noticed during their first 20 operations together.
"My Name is Earl," 7 p.m., NBC. It's a crisis point for Earl, who lost his faith in karma. Fresh from prison (after taking the rap for Joy), he has no money, home or future. He wants to be bad again, after seeing bad-guy Ralph (Giovanni Ribisi) prosper. Can he be saved? Alyssa Milano plays the former girlfriend of Earl's prison colleague, Frank.
OF NOTE
"Ugly Betty," 7 p.m., ABC. Annie Potts plays a clairvoyant, helping Amanda find her dad. Also guesting are rappers Bow Wow and Omarion.
"CSI: NY," 7 p.m., CBS. There's a tough neighborhood in this rerun: A drug lord raids the police lab, trying to get his stash back.
"30 Rock," 7:30 p.m., NBC. Liz tries condo-ownership; Kenneth tries coffee-drinker. Both have troubles.
"The Celebrity Apprentice," 8 p.m., NBC. The surviving contestants make TV ads promoting pet adoption.
"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. There's murder at the rodeo. That brings two singers as guest stars — Shooter Jennings (son of the late Waylon Jennings) and Jewel (mate of rodeo champion Ty Murray).
"Without a Trace," 9 p.m., CBS. When a private eye disappears, there are plenty of suspects.
"Make Me a Supermodel" debut, 8 p.m., Bravo. In a special (rerunning at 9 p.m.), we saw Niki Taylor and Tyson Beckford choose an interesting and diverse batch of seven men and seven women. Tonight, the competition begins.
"ER," 9:01 p.m., NBC. Abby is back from rehab now, with colleagues viewing her skeptically. That makes it tough, because they must deal with a lot of fire victims.
"Big Shots," 9:02 p.m., ABC. This show plans to air its last new episodes over the next three Thursdays. Tonight, Charisma Carpenter ("Angel") guest stars, taking an instant interest in Brody (Christopher Titus).
