SHUGA
TAG NO. 07-17568
A few months ago, we were inundated with tortoiseshell cats; most have been adopted, but young Shuga is still with us. She was formerly in a military household, and appears to have been left largely to her own devices. This black and tan cat is hoping the new year brings her a new home, too.
RUNNER
TAG NO. 07-28590
This brindle-and white standout is smart and fast. Second only to the whippet in speed, greyhounds love to run and play chase. Runner has energy, and then some. A charming kukini, Runner may guard his toys or treats a little too zealously, but he loves to learn and lives to please.
TOFFEE
TAG NO. 07-28916
So sweet is Toffee; a furry, blurry white and brown blob. This little piggy came to us as a stray on Dec. 15, talking up a storm. He is fluent in "pig Latin," and proud of it! Toffee would make an excellent "first pet" for some lucky keiki.
These animals already may have found homes. The Hawaiian Humane Society and McInerny Dog Park, at 2700 Wai'alae Ave., are open seven days a week. For hours, directions, special events and to see more pets available for adoption, visit www.hawaiianhumane.org or call 946-2187. Call immediately to report lost or found animals.
