The Hanauma Bay Education program will offer free public lectures 6:30-7:30 p.m. every Thursday in February, Humpback Whale Awareness Month:
Feb. 7: "Understanding Strandings, Marine Mammal Beaching," Kristi West, biology professor, University of Hawai'i-Manoa.
Feb. 14: "Whales in Crisis," National Geographic documentary.
Feb. 21: "Talking Trash! Marine Debris and Wildlife Entanglement," Carey Morishige, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Marine Debris Program.
Feb. 28: Topic to be announced, and Humpback Whale Awareness Month contest awards start at 6:15 p.m.
Parking is free after 5:30 p.m.
