By customer request, California Pizza Kitchen outlets in Hawai'i and elsewhere around the country are bringing back a customer favorite. According to Eddie Spencer, senior general manager of CPK here, the pear and gorgonzola pizza has returned to the menu. Also: Four new dishes are being introduced, including Buffalo chicken pizza, Sonora egg rolls, asparagus and spinach spaghettini and pesto cream penne. There's also a red velvet cake dessert, a retro sweet that's been making a comeback everywhere. California Pizza Kitchen's Hawai'i flagship is at Kahala Mall; 737-9446.

PEET'S OPENS ITS FIRST COFFEE BAR AT RENOVATED SHERATON WAIKIKI
Peet's Coffee & Tea, long a San Francisco institution and a popular omiyage gift for Islanders to bring back from the Bay Area (or, more recently, buy in select grocery stores here), has opened its first coffee bar here. It's at the newly renovated Sheraton Waikiki hotel and is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. In addition to prepackaged roasted coffees, the kiosk-style shop will offer specialty drinks and teas. It's owned by Los Angeles-based MCC Coffee Group. 922-5001.
