Hawai'i's Natasha Kai recorded an assist as the U.S. women's national soccer team posted its first win in Norway, defeating the host country, 4-0, yesterday in a tuneup for the Beijing Games.
Kai, who played the entire game, assisted on Carli Lloyd's goal in the 52nd minute after making a run into the penalty area and passing to Lloyd.
Lindsay Tarpley put the USA on the board in the fourth minute after forward Abby Wambach received a throw-in and passed to Tarpley. Angela Hucles scored in the 84th minute on a 40-yard blast. Wambach scored her 99th career goal on a through pass from Amy Rodriguez in the 87th minute to close out the scoring.
The United States improved to 19-0 this year, including a penalty-kicks victory over Canada. The U.S. plays Sweden Saturday in another exhibition.
