Take a walk down the yellow brick road with Dorothy and her friends as Diamond Head Theatre presents "The Wizard of Oz" as its season finale. Memorable songs such as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "If I Only Had a Heart" fill the tale of the girl who finds herself lost in a fantastical world that's menaced by the Wicked Witch of the West. Rob Duval directs. The show has already been extended through Aug. 3.

DANCE: JULY 17
JabbaWockeeZ, last season's winners of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, headlines a gig that also includes a dance competition, crew b-boy battle, performances by Krystilez and more. This will be the Island debut of the San Diego-based JabbaWockeeZ, known for its signature white, full-face masks and gloves and hip-hop synchronized dance moves.

NATURE: JULY 18-20
"Orchids for Everyone!" is the theme of the Kaimuki Orchid Society's annual show, featuring miniature Japanese village displays, plant sales and garden shop, workshops, orchid re-potting (one plant per person), and, of course, orchid, oshibana, ikebana and bonsai displays. There will also be giveaways and a silent auction.

STAGE: JULY 18-27
The Hawaii Shakespeare Festival kicks off its 2008 season with the classic tragedy "Othello." The play covers various themes of racism, love, jealousy and betrayal among Othello, his wife Desdemona, his lieutenant Cassio, and his trusted adviser Iago. "Othello" is guest-directed by Scott Rogers and stars Derrick Brownand Jessica Ciufo, left. Rounding out the festival schedule: "Henry V," opening Aug. 8, and "Merchant of Venice," opening Aug. 22. Each play runs for two weekends.

FESTIVAL: JULY 19-20
The 11th annual Summer ArtFest, presented by The Hale'iwa Arts Festival, features two days of fine arts and crafts by more than 130 artists from Hawai'i and the Mainland. Other attractions include musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers on the performance stage, cultural history trolley tours, student art displays, arts demonstrations and keiki activities. The "Cool Stuff to Buy" booth will sell limited-edition poster prints, T-shirts and tanks.

New Zealand's Katchafire headlines the KCCN FM100 Birthday Bash, performing each night of the two-night spectacle. The Bash, now in its 18th year, features some of the top local entertainers:

The sounds of more than 700 'ukulele take over Kapi'olani Park Bandstand at the Starbucks 38th annual Ukulele Festival as players from Hawai'i and around the world come together. Guest artists scheduled to perform include Ohta-San, Paula Fuga, James Hill from Canada, Yuji Igarashi, Tatae Imamura and the Yamaha School of Ukulele of Japan. The festival will include food booths, 'ukulele displays and giveaways; Danny Kaleikini is emcee. There will be free shuttles from Kapi'olani Community College, too.

Familiar tunes from the 1940s through the '60s, including Hawaiian, Japanese and European numbers, will be showcased in a concert presented by The Hawaii Harmonica Society, right, composed of the Hawaii Reed 21 harmonica band of the International Cultural & Friendship Association of Mililani and the Small World Harmonica Band of the Beretania Community Park recreation center. Songs include the love theme from "The Godfather," "Que Sera Sera," "Danny Boy" and "You Are My Sunshine."

Indie rock band Vampire Weekend brings its Western-classical/African-popular-music-inspired sound to the Islands. The New York band formed in 2006, while all four members attended Columbia University. Vampire's single "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" was ranked 67th on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007, and the band released its self-titled debut album earlier this year.

Bobby Brown, right, and his prerogative take it back to the days of acid wash, the running man and hair crimping as he headlines "That Big! 80s Show." Expect to hear songs from Brown's upcoming album "The Masterpiece" as well as familiar hits "Don't Be Cruel," "On Our Own" and "Every Little Step." Also performing are Hawai'i's Glenn Medeiros; The Fab 4, '80s cover band; and DJs James Coles, Lisa D and Spaz. The concert is for those 18 and older.

Smash Mouth, left, the multiplatinum-selling California pop rock band, is coming for its first concert in the Islands in more than 10 years. The band's hits include "Walkin' In The Sun" and "All Star"; and it's known for performing covers of popular songs such as War's "Why Can't We Be Friends" and The Monkees' "I'm a Believer," from the film "Shrek." The guys of Go Jimmy Go open the show.
