Less Schnabel Jr. has been found guilty of manslaughter in the April 2007 death of North Carolina visitor Christopher Reuther at Zablan Beach Park in Nanakuli.

A Circuit Court jury deliberated slightly more than a day before delivering the verdict this morning.

The jury found Schnabel, 23, not guilty of a second charge of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.

Over the objections of the prosecution, Circuit Judge Michael Town allowed Schnabel to remain free on $50,000 bail until he is sentenced Sept. 10.

Schnabel faces a sentence ranging from five years probation to 20 years behind bars.
