Single-lane closures in both directions of Fort Weaver Road will continue this week as the state's long-running road-widening project progresses.

Northbound motorists, however, will get the benefit of two lanes throughout the construction period, thanks to a contraflow lane.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily through Friday, the left lane southbound between Old Fort Weaver Road and Renton Road will be closed for median electrical work.

During that time, one northbound lane will be contraflowed using one southbound lane between 'A'awa Drive and the Honouliuli Stream Bridge to allow construction of a drainage crossing area, paving and lane striping.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving and to allow for extra travel time.
