The United States women's soccer team tuned up for the Olympics with another shutout.

Amy Rodriguez, who came on as a substitute for Hawai'i's Natasha Kai, scored in the 71st minute and the U.S. women posted their sixth straight shutout — a 1-0 win over Brazil in an exhibition match yesterday in Commerce City, Colo.

The U.S. is 21-0 in 2008, including a penalty-kicks win over Canada. The U.S. and Brazil meet again Wednesday in San Diego in their last match before the Olympics start next month in Beijing. The U.S. faces Norway on Aug. 6 in its Olympic opener.

"Any time we go out on the Olympic or national level it's important to us," said Rodriguez, who has five goals in 17 games this year. "Every win counts, and with every game we want to get better so not only is the win important but the overall play and chemistry of the team. We just want to be ready for the Olympics."

The U.S. is still getting familiar with head coach Pia Sundhage's system, and so far the results have been positive. The women have won 10 straight and haven't been scored upon since a 2-1 win over Australia in South Korea on June 15.

"The way we played in the second half, keeping the ball and possessing it against a great team builds confidence going into the Olympics," captain Christie Rampone said.

BOLT BLAZES TO FASTEST 200 TIME THIS SEASON

Usain Bolt, the 100-meter world record holder, ran the fastest time in the 200 this year, winning in 19.67 seconds yesterday at the Tsiklitiria Athens Grand Prix track meet.

The 21-year-old Jamaican is now the fifth fastest man of all time in the 200.

"I am very satisfied with my performance," Bolt said. "I feel sure I will be very strong at the Olympic Games."

Bolt ran 9.72 to set the 100 world record in New York in May. He didn't run the 100 in Athens.

Bolt has previously said he is unsure whether he will compete in both the 100 and 200 at the Beijing Olympics.

WIZARDS, ARENAS OFFICIALLY SIGN DEAL

Gilbert Arenas signed his six-year, $111 million contract with the Washington Wizards yesterday, securing the return of a franchise player who is accepting less money than was offered.

Arenas and the Wizards agreed to the deal July 3, but both sides waited until Arenas returned from an overseas trip to settle the details.

The Wizards offered Arenas a max contract — $127 million over six years — leaving it up to Arenas to decide whether he would live up to his previous statement that he would take a lesser amount if it would help the team sign other players.

Because Arenas did not accept the max contract, the Wizards have room to make another significant addition this offseason without going over the NBA's luxury tax limit.
