Olympics: Canada, Croatia win basketball qualifiers

ATHENS, Greece — Jermaine Anderson made a late 3-pointer and Canada used a late rally to beat South Korea 79-77 at a qualifying tournament for the Beijing Olympics today.
Canada rebounded from its opening-round 86-70 loss to Slovenia on Tuesday.
"I just told these guys to stay with it," Canada coach Leo Rautins said. "(They) settled down and starting playing basketball."
Rowan Barrett led Canada with 22 points, while Jeon Jung-gyu scored 19 for South Korea.
Croatia rallied to beat Puerto Rico 95-81 and will face Canada in Friday's quarterfinals.
Twelve teams at the Athens tournament are vying for the three remaining Olympic places in Beijing.
