Prosecutors today charged an 'Ewa Beach man with allegedly kidnapping and beating his former girlfriend.

Timothy B. Prickett, 47, is accused of second-degree assault and kidnapping, and is being held overnight in lieu of $100,000 bail at the main police station cellblock pending an initial appearance tomorrow at District Court.

A woman, 48, told police she was at a bus stop in Kalihi July 12 when Prickett forced her into a vehicle at 9 a.m., drove her to his residence, and kept her there until she was able to escape July 15 at noon. While at the residence, the woman alleges Prickett beat her several times.

Police said the woman was treated for head and injuries, including five broken ribs.

Prickett was arrested yesterday at District Court at 12:30 p.m. He has two prior convictions, according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records.
