Former Big Island resident Kimberly Kim beat Stacy Kim of Yorba Linda, Calif., 5 and 4, today to advance to the second round of match play at the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship at Hartford, Conn.

'Aiea's Anna Jang lost to Madison Pressel of Boca Raton, Fla., 1 up, before play was suspended.

The second and third rounds are scheduled to be played tomorrow at the Hartford Golf Club.
