Poet W.S. Merwin, Maxine Hong Kingston and Paunani Burgess will give a presentation at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at Iao Theater in Wailuku, Maui.

Merwin has won the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry, the Hawai'i Governor's Award for Literature, and the Tanning Prize from the Academy of American Poets. Kingston is a winner of the National Book Award, the National Humanities Medal, and designated a Hawai'i Living Treasure. Burgess is an educator, poet, and cultural translator.
