"DokoGaTV: JapanMania," a new lifestyle show hosted by Hawai'i-based Pali Ka'aihue and Sachiko Uchida, premieres today on OC 16, with six repeat airings this week.
The program, with Nippon and Island footage, will air in Japan as "DokoGaTV: HawaiiMania."
"We will be covering and interviewing some of the best restaurants, locales, attractions, music, hula and people here and sharing the show in Japan starting in September 2008," Ka'aihue said.
Among the locations visited: a tonkatsu restaurant, Kimu Katsu; Fuji-Q High Land Amusement Park, including its roller coaster; and Ninja Akasa, a ninja-themed restaurant. The hosts also chat with a creator of "Appleseed," a CGI-anime film.
Ka'aihue is leader of the award-winning musical group Pali, and is honcho of LavaNet Inc., an Internet solutions provider. Uchida hosts a radio show, "Colors of Hawaii," which originates here and is heard by 6 million to 7 million listeners in Japan.
Episodes also will be viewable at www.dokoga.tv.
