Applications are now available for the Maui County Fair Parade, which is set for Oct. 2.

Forms can be downloaded at www.mauicountyfair.com, and also can be picked up at the Maui County Fair office trailer, which is scheduled to open this week in the War Memorial Gym parking lot. To check whether the office is open, call 242-2721.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 12. A mandatory meeting for parade participants will be held Sept. 25, when staging area assignments and other matters will be discussed.

The parade will start at 4:30 p.m. at Maui Community College. its route travels down Ka'ahumanu Avenue to Kanaloa and past the fairgrounds at the War Memorial Complex. Participants are granted free entry into the fair on opening night.
